Wedding Jitters?

All 3 Nelson familes converge to celebrate the marriage of Jody and Cassidy Nelson. With 2 new Nelson additions, we thought the ceremony may have a few baby accents courtesy from Rachel and Eli, but it was absolutely beautiful and scream-free. They are taking their cue from their BIG cousin Jon-Michael. We have two very beautiful babies and can't wait for future memories to develop.

Happy Birthday Deddy!

Eli and mama decided to suprise deddy with an unexpected birthday gift, but deddy believes the best birthday gift he could receive is wearing a red trimmed bib!

Another new cousin!!!

With all of the new additions we have had to our family in a 2-month time period, you must think that we are either a back-woods family that claims everyone is a cousin or that we are paying families for photos of their precious arrivals. Today we welcomed Bailey Reed to the family. She is the last addition for a while. She weighs 5 pounds 9 ounces and is 19 inches long.

Is Eli already playing in the mud?

No, Eli is not already playing in the mud. We had the great idea to make Eli's handprints and footprints. It took three people to do it - one to hold him and two to make Eli cooperate. It was such a traumatic experience!!! He has no idea of all the projects that his mom and Beba have in store for him. He just better get used to it.

Will you please wake up?

At the Girl's Brunch, Eli was attempting to nap while Rebecca was trying to wake him up. Rebecca was born May 23rd and weighed 5 pounds 6 ounces. She has grown so much since then and she thinks she is going to be a match for Eli. It is going to be so much fun seeing all of the cousins grow up together.

First Hen Party!

Today, Eli attended his first Girl's Brunch. He was a little overwhelmed by all of the estrogen in the room, so he decided he would sleep through it.

Eli gets a new cousin

A new addition was added to the family on July 9th. Clayton Mark was born very early in the morning in Vernon, Indiana. We cannot wait to meet him in person. Clayton is the 3rd of 4 cousins that will be born within a 2 month period on one side of our family. Granddaddy and big brother Dalton are very excited!

Eli with his cousin Rachael

Eli met his cousin Rachael on July 1st. Eli was 4 days old and Rachael was 6 weeks old. Their great-grandmother, Mammaw, is so proud of them.

A traumatic experience!!!!!

Eli had his 1st bath in his new tub. At first he was enjoying the water, but with enough loving care, he turned out squeaky clean and was content with the results. The Soothie helped make the experience a little more bearable for mama and deddy.

Aaaaahhhhhh!

Eli is having the time of his short life taking a nap in mama and deddy's bed.

I'm HUNGRY!!

Eli is definately growing up quickly. It seems like mom is always shoving a bottle into his mouth, which normally calms him to sleep (so she may get in a nap too!).

Pooped!

After a long day of playing, Eli decided that he wanted to sleep in big bed rather than his crib. Peppy was close by keeping watch and when we tried to put Eli in his crib, Peppy growled at us. And so many people were worried how Peppy would react to his new brother!

Eli's favorite PJ's

Eli was so excited that he got to wear his new pj's tonight. The doggie on it reminds him of his big brother, Peppy.

Eli's first Fourth of July

Today, Eli went to visit Deddy at work. He was so excited to be out and about and Deddy was so excited to show off Eli. After all of the excitement, Eli and Deddy were pooped and fell asleep together.

Eli gets a new swing

After a long day of playing, Eli was exhausted. So we put him in his swing to try and calm him down a little bit. Boy were we wrong! He loves his swing and he really likes to swing fast and high. So much for this being a calming experience!

Papa feeds Eli for the first time

Papa feeds Eli for the first time. He is doing a pretty good job considering that he hasn't fed a baby in almost 30 years. Of course, Eli was passed off quickly when Papa thought a diaper change might be required!

Eli, Family - Family, Eli (Meeting the Family)

Eli with Great Grandmother Gran

Eli with his Great Grandmother

Eli is getting inspected by his Mammaw

Uncle Craig is certainly excited....

...almost as much as Aunt Tammy

Pappy holds Eli like a pro and is trying to get his little face to show for the camera

Granna just can't contain herself with HER birthday present!

And Papa said he would NOT go ga-ga over his grandchild

Uncle Matt would rather Eli be a bit bigger - so he can take him on some cool trips!

The Nelson men - a good-looking bunch if there ever was one

Peppy is not so sure about his little brother just yet.

Pop-Mick is having the time of his life helping Mama and Deddy get settled back in

If Beba could smile any bigger, we're sure she would.

"Great" Uncle Jon just couldn't keep away when he heard another Rhodes was born.

Eli is wondering if he will grow as big as his cousin Pierce one day.

Eli's 1st day home!!

Eli is fascinated by the mobile on his pack-and-play. I'm sure his Soothie is nearby, but the mesmorizing dancing bears are too much for him to resist.

Eli on his 1st day at home. As you can see, he loves his new bouncer and wouldn't be caught anywhere without his Soothie.

Mama and Deddy getting to know Eli

We are such proud parents and it is hard not to take so many pictures of our little boy. We took these photos when he was 1 day old.

Eli is here!!!

After many months of waiting, Eli is here!!! He was born on June 27, 2007 at 1:21 pm. He weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces and was 21 inches long. He is absolutely perfect (in our opinions) and we don't know what we did without him. He is an amazing miracle, and we are so blessed to have him as the newest addition to the Nelson family.
